Are you currently leasing a Nissan LEAF? If so, Nissan is offering to extend your lease until the next-generation 2018 LEAF becomes available later this year.
Nissan made the announcement last week. The offer will allow potentially thousands of LEAF drivers to make an easy transition from the current LEAF to the 2018 model—without switching over to another electric car in the meantime. Nissan said the new LEAF will be revealed in a global event in September and will go on sale by the end of 2017.
In the offer, LEAF drivers who have a lease that expires on April 1 or later would be able to extend their existing leases—and get three months of courtesy payments on the extension. Also, these drivers will get a reservation with higher priority for the new model (although delivery dates will also depend on region).
Nissan indicated that it would contact existing LEAF owners about how to take advantage of this program. Alternatively, lease-holders can contact Nissan directly at 855-467-3214.
